Sabres, Wild deny Enroth trade rumblings

Elliotte Friedman and George Stroumboulopoulos discuss the latest news around the hockey world, including a possible Wayne Gretzky return to Edmonton and the return of the NHL All-Star draft.

The Minnesota Wild could very well be in the market for goaltending help, but it does not appear they will be trading for Jhonas Enroth.

According to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, there were trade rumblings within the hockey industry that linked Buffalo goalie Enroth with the Wild, but the rumour was denied by both clubs.

Enroth would be a logical trade candidate for a team looking for depth in net because his contract expires after the season and he has a relatively-small salary cap hit ($1.25 million) to begin with.

The 26-year-old has a .909 save percentage, and 3.14 goals-against average in 27 games this season.
