Chicago Blackhawks defenceman Brent Seabrook will have a hearing for his hit to the head of St. Louis Blues captain David Backes, Sportsnet’s John Shannon is reporting.
Shannon is saying that no time has been set for Seabrook’s hearing but it will be done over the phone.
Late in the third period of game two of the Blackhawks and Blues first-round playoff series, Backes was going after the puck in the corner when he got blindsided by Seabrook, leaving him in a daze and knocking him out of the game.
Seabrook said after the game that he was just trying to finish his check.
St. Louis leads the series 2-0.
