Ottawa Senators forward Nick Paul left Wednesday’s game against the Edmonton Oilers with a neck strain and will not return.

Paul was injured early in the first period after a collision with the Oilers’ Josh Archibald. As the puck exited the Senators’ zone, both players turned to exit the zone too but inadvertently crossed into each other’s path. Paul was slow to get up after the collision, immediately went to the Senators’ bench and didn’t take another shift.

The 24-year-old Paul has three goals and nine points in 23 games this season.
