The Ottawa Senators have signed defenceman Ron Hainsey to a one-year contract worth $3.5 million.

Hainsey, 38, has spent the last two seasons with the Toronto Maple Leafs, recording nine goals and 46 points in 161 regular-season games to go along with a plus-42 rating.

The 16-year NHL veteran is just the latest former Leaf to commit to the Senators, joining Tyler Ennis, Nikita Zaitsev and Connor Brown in the nation’s capital.
