The Dallas Stars have signed 2017 first-round pick Jake Oettinger to a three-year, entry-level contract, Stars GM Jim Nill announced Monday.

The six-foot-five, 220-pound goaltender spent his junior season at Boston University and finished with a 16-16-4 record, .926 save percentage and 2.45 goals-against average.

Over 108 games in the NCAA, Oettinger ends his NCAA career with a 58-39-11 record, 2.34 goals-against average, .923 save percentage and 13 shutouts.

His 13 shutouts tied a Boston University record.

Oettinger, who was selected 26th overall in 2017, received a number of accolades over his time in the NCAA, including the 2018 Hockey East Tournament MVP after leading Boston University to a Hockey East title.

He will report to Dallas’ AHL affiliate, the Texas Stars on an amateur tryout for the remainder of the 2018-19 season.
