Team Finland, a serious medal threat at the Olympic men’s ice hockey tournament in Sochi, unveiled its uniform for the occasion Wednesday.
The new Nike-designed jerseys prominently feature the blue-and-white Finnish flag, which appears large on the left sleeve of the blue sweater and is the entire white sweater. The blue getup features the nation’s coat of arms front and centre, while the white flag version places the coat of arms as a small patch near the player’s heart.
The Czech Republic also got the full-flag treatment from Nike.
As with the rest of Nike’s Sochi 2014 sweaters, Finland’s sweater is made partly of recycled water bottles and features the faux collar laces.
Finland will attempt to improve on the bronze medal it earned in Vancouver 2010 when the Sochi Games commence in February.
