The Atlanta Thrashers have locked up one of its recent blue-line acquisitions as it looks to secure a playoff spot down the stretch.
The club signed defenceman Mark Stuart to a three-year deal worth $1.7 million per season on Monday after getting him in a trade with the Boston Bruins on Feb. 18.
Stuart, 26, has played in four games with the Thrashers.
In 287 career NHL games with Boston, Stuart had 40 points (13 goals, 27 assists) and 294 penalty minutes.
Later, the Thrashers acquired winger Radek Dvorak and a fifth-round draft pick from the Florida Panthers in exchange for Niclas Bergfors and Patrick Rissmiller.
