Los Angeles Angels star third baseman Anthony Rendon will make his return from injury on Friday against the Boston Red Sox, the team announced.

Rendon has been sidelined since May 3, when he was hit with a foul ball off his left knee. The two-time silver slugger has been struggling with injuries this year, having also spent time on the IL back in April with a groin issue.

The 30-year-old Rendon is batting .276/.348/.466 in the season, with three home runs over 58 at bats. Los Angeles sit in last place in the American League West, with a 16-20 record.
