It's been a tough spell for a former Blue Jays hurler.
The Los Angeles Angels have sent RHP Alek Manoah to triple-A Salt Lake, the team announced on Sunday.
The move comes after a tough outing for Manoah on Saturday, giving up six hits and eight earned runs over 1.1 innings as the Dodgers smoked the Angels 15-2.
His fastball sat at 84.6 m.p.h., down from his second average of 87.9 m.p.h.
The former Blue Jays pitcher was reinstated from the injured list on May 6 after he began the year on the sidelines with a finger contusion.
The 2022 all-star made his Angels debut against the Jays on May 8, pitching one inning in a 2-0 loss, and pitched five scoreless relief innings on May 11 against the Guardians.
In a corresponding move, RHP Grayson Rodriguez will be reinstated from the injured list for the Angels on Sunday and is in line to make his season debut.
Rodriguez hasn't taken the mound since the 2024 season after missing the entire 2025 campaign with lat and elbow issues. He was acquired by the Angels in an off-season trade from the Baltimore Orioles and began this year on the IL with right shoulder inflammation.
The Angels look to avoid a sweep on Sunday as they host the Dodgers in the final game of a three-game crosstown series.
