Tensions boiled over in the fourth inning of Game 7 of the World Series on Saturday night between the Toronto Blue Jays and Los Angeles Dodgers.
With Andrés Giménez batting with one out in the frame, Dodgers reliever Justin Wrobleski went up and in on the Blue Jays shortstop with three pitches in the at-bat.
After the third clipped his hands with a 2-2 count, Giménez gestured out toward Wrobleski, throwing his hands up into the air as the two jawed back and forth. The Dodgers' lefty also began to walk toward Giménez, clearing both dugouts and bullpens.
While no punches were thrown, the fracas continued into the outfield after Giménez and Wrobleski were initially separated as relivers Kirby Yates and Jeff Hoffman began yelling back and forth.
Ultimately, there were no ejections on the play, and Wrobleski settled back in to face George Springer.
Springer responded by ripping a 99 m.p.h. liner off Wrobleski for a single.
Wrobleski stayed in the game after being visited by team trainers and struck out Nathan Lukes.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts then turned to Tyler Glasnow to face Vladimir Guerrero Jr., bringing a loud chorus of boos for Wrobleski as he made the walk back to the visitors' dugout.
