The Toronto Blue Jays have selected right-handed pitcher Max Castillo to their Major League roster and activated him for Sunday's game against the New York Yankees, the club announced.

Castillo, 23, began this season with the double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats. After recording a 3.10 ERA in 29 innings, he was called up to the triple-A Buffalo Bisons on May 15. From there, his ERA significantly improved to a stellar 0.66 in 27.1 innings.

The international signing from Venezuela has yet to make his Major League debut.

In a corresponding move, the Blue Jays optioned right-handed pitcher Casey Lawrence to triple-A Buffalo. The Blue Jays also outrighted righty Bowden Francis on Saturday night.

The Blue Jays take on the Yankees looking to avoid a three-game sweep at home on Sunday. Watch it live on Sportsnet or SN NOW at 1:30 p.m. ET / 10:30 a.m. PT.
