The Toronto Blue Jays have placed Teoscar Hernandez on the injured list following an exposure to a positive COVID-19 case with a close contact outside of the team.
MLB health-and-safety protocols state that a player who has been identified as having been in close contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case must undergo a seven-day quarantine, and must test negative for the novel coronavirus on the fifth day, or later, of that quarantine period before they can return to club facilities.
Ryan Borucki and Tyler Chatwood were also added to the injured list with side effects following COVID-19 vaccination and right triceps inflammation, respectively.
