Blue Jays place Santiago Espinal on 10-day IL with hip flexor strain

Corey Dickerson hit a single in extra innings to drive in the go-ahead run and leading the Blue Jays to a 3-2 win over the Detroit Tigers.

The Toronto Blue Jays will be without a key defensive piece in the infield for an important stretch of games after Santiago Espinal was placed on the 10-day injured list with a right hip flexor strain.

Espinal was lifted from Saturday's win over Detroit after the second inning with the injury. He is hitting .290/.354/.378 with 15 RBIs in 83 games this season.

In a corresponding move, the Blue Jays have activated veteran outfielder Jarrod Dyson after claiming him off waivers from the Royals last week. Dyson will be available off the bench Sunday.
