Brandon Barriera is moving up.
The Toronto Blue Jays promoted the 2022 first-round pick to high-A Vancouver, the team announced on Monday.
Barriera, 22, did not allow a run across four August starts with the low-A Dunedin Blue Jays, picking up 16 strikeouts while allowing six hits and eight walks across 13.2 innings.
The Brooklyn, N.Y., left-hander holds a 3.93 ERA over 13 games at two minor-league levels with 33 strikeouts over 32 frames.
Throughout an injury-riddled minor-league career, Barriera has registered a 5.11 ERA in 26 starts — half of which have come this year — dating to 2023.
