Lazaro Estrada is back with the big club.
The Toronto Blue Jays recalled the right-handed reliever from triple-A Buffalo on Thursday, the team announced.
Estrada will join the bullpen in place of Brendon Little, who was placed on the paternity list.
Estrada, 27, last appeared in Sunday's 7-6 extra-innings defeat to the Philadelphia Phillies and took the loss after giving up two runs (one earned) on three hits. In seven relief appearances with Toronto this season, he has a 4.50 ERA and 1.250 WHIP.
Little, 30, was demoted to triple-A after some early-season struggles but has been much improved since his return to the majors.
Over his last five appearances with the Blue Jays, the lefty reliever has given up just one earned run and struck out four.
Toronto will send Max Scherzer to the mound as it looks to complete a four-game sweep of the Boston Red Sox on Thursday (2:30 p.m. ET / 11:30 a.m. PT, Sportsnet and Sportsnet+).
Kazuma Okamoto will make his return to third base and bat fifth, while George Springer is back in the starting lineup after a day off as the DH and will hit fourth. Outfielder Brett Bateman comes out of the lineup after making six consecutive starts.
After an 11-5 stretch, the Blue Jays sit just 1.5 games out of the final wild-card spot in the American League.
