The Toronto Blue Jays pitching staff could be getting some much-needed help as Ross Stripling is slated to make a rehab start with triple-A Buffalo on Friday, according to manager John Schneider.
The right-hander was placed on the 15-day injured list with a right glute/hip strain back on Aug. 3 after pitching four scoreless innings in his last start against the Detroit Tigers.
Stripling is 5-3 with a 3.16 ERA, 67 strikeouts and 15 walks this season after moving into the starting rotation after Hyun Jin Ryu suffered a season-ending elbow injury.
