The Toronto Blue Jays signed Ernie Clement on Tuesday to a minor-league contract and invited the utility player to spring training.
Drafted in the fourth round by the Cleveland Guardians in 2017, the 26-year-old made his major league debut in June 2021.
Splitting 70 major-league appearances in 2022 between the Guardians and the Oakland Athletics, Clement batted .184 with four doubles and six RBI. He made starts at first base, second base, third base, shortstop, left field and pitched on two occasions.
Across 110 career games in the majors, he's batted .204 with 11 extra-base hits and 15 RBI.
The A's had released Clement on Sunday.
