Trey Yesavage isn't prepared to call it quits on 2026 just yet.
The Toronto Blue Jays starter resumed throwing from flat ground on Tuesday at the team's player development complex in Dunedin, Fla., following meniscus surgery on his left knee a week ago, Sportsnet's Arden Zwelling reported.
Yesavage is going to continue working with hopes of getting himself in a position to get back into games late this season.
The right-hander suffered the injury in a 7-2 loss to the Houston Astros on Aug. 4. His knee appeared to buckle while warming up ahead of the third inning.
Yesavage has posted a 3.65 ERA and 1.14 WHIP in 93.2 innings this season. He entered the big leagues at the end of 2025 and played a key role in getting the Blue Jays to the World Series with a 3.46 ERA in the post-season.
The 23-year-old missed the first month of the 2026 season as he recovered from an off-season shoulder ailment.
The Blue Jays could potentially use Yesavage down the stretch as they've gone on a run recently to put themselves just 0.5 games out of a wild-card spot. They return to action on Tuesday against the Tampa Bay Rays on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+ at 6:40 p.m. ET / 3:40 p.m. PT.
