Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero Jr. named AL player of the week for third time

In this edition of Blue Jays Plays of the Week, George Springer hits first home run since his return from injury and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hits his league leading 26th home run.

Toronto Blue Jays star first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has been named the American League Player of the Week for the third time in his career.

Guerrero led the Blue Jays to a near-perfect week where the team won five of six games against the Miami Marlins and Baltimore Orioles.

The 22-year-old dominated at the plate this week hitting .391 with eight runs scored, three home runs, seven RBIs and four walks with a .826 slugging percentage. Those three home runs included his Major-League leading 26th and marked the third time this season he has homered in three straight games.

Guerrero currently leads all American League batters with 94 hits, 66 RBIs, a .443 on-base percentage, .684 slugging percentage and 1.127 OPS. He has only failed to record a hit in four of his 24 games this month.

San Diego Padres infielder Jake Cronenworth was named the NL Player of the Week, making him the fourth different Padres player to win the honour this season.
