The Atlanta Braves will have the services of a key player as they face elimination.
Star outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr., whose status was uncertain for Game 4 of the NLDS due to a knee injury, is in the lineup as the right-fielder and will bat second against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday (Sportsnet ONE, Sportsnet+, 6 p.m. ET / 3 p.m. PT).
Acuña had an MRI on his right knee after Tuesday's loss, the team said, per Mark Bowman of MLB.com.
The 2023 MVP was a late scratch in right field and was moved to designated hitter instead ahead of Game 3. Acuña went 0-for-3 with one walk in Atlanta's 3-1 loss, putting L.A. up 2-1 in the best-of-five series.
The 28-year-old played 107 games this season and went on the injured list twice with left hamstring strains.
Acuña still finished with 20 home runs, 21 stolen bases and a .796 OPS while boasting one of the best outfield arms in baseball.
After achieving the first-ever 40-home-run, 70-stolen-base season in 2023 and winning the National League MVP, Acuña missed most of the next two seasons with a torn left ACL and has failed to recapture the same level of performance since.
