The Los Angeles Dodgers are getting the star of their bullpen back.
Closer Edwin Diaz will be activated on Wednesday, manager Dave Roberts told Dodgers Talk host David Vassegh on Saturday.
The three-time MLB Reliever of the Year had surgery on his pitching elbow in April and began a rehab assignment two weeks ago in single-A Ontario. Now, he's almost ready to return to the Majors.
Diaz has only made seven appearances for the Dodgers, in what is his first season with the club, allowing seven runs over six innings. The 32-year-old was with the New York Mets since 2019, before signing a three-year contract with Los Angeles in the off-season.
Roberts also said that utilityman Enrique Hernandez will return from his oblique injury this week.
