With a number of Canadians starring in the majors and fresh off a successful run at the World Baseball Classic in March, 13 Canucks were selected in the 2026 MLB Draft.
Coming off the 2025 event, in which 19 Canadians heard their names called, a new crop of talent from north of the border once again had its MLB dreams realized over the two-day, 20-round event in Philadelphia this year.
Here is a list of each Canadian pick from the 2026 draft.
26. Carter Beck
Team: Atlanta Braves
Position: Outfield | Age: 21
Bats: Left | Throws: Right
Born: Estevan, Sask. | School: Indiana State
A star centre-fielder at Indiana State, Beck rose up draft boards with his strong performance in 2026, winning the Missouri Valley Conference Joe Carter Player of the Year award before becoming the highest draft pick ever from Saskatchewan. Over 57 games for the Sycamores, the five-foot-11 Beck slashed .346/.446/.637 with 16 home runs and 12 stolen bases. He also earned All-Conference First Team and All-Defensive Team honours.
33. Taj Marchand
Team: Tampa Bay Rays
Position: Shortstop | Age: 17

Born: Charleston, S.C. | School: James Island HS (S.C.)
Marchand is a dual citizen, thanks to his Montreal-born father, Hugo, who was a seventh-round pick of the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1997. Taj lands with the Rays after starring on the high-school circuit in South Carolina with a propensity for putting the barrel on the ball and promising exit velocities for his age. The six-foot-two shortstop hit .531 with 13 home runs and 45 RBIs in his senior season, leading his high school to a third straight state championship.
60. Elliot Lascelles

Born: Toronto | School: Upper Canada College (Toronto)
A standout middle-infielder on the Canadian Junior National Team, Lascelles became the top prep position player from north of the border leading up to the draft after a strong spring. During the Junior National Team's stint in the MLB Draft League in June, Lascelles slashed .394/.523/.545 with two triples in nine games while stealing eight bases.
63. Sean Duncan

Born: Port Coquitlam, B.C. | School: Terry Fox Secondary HS (B.C.)
Duncan has been the headliner of Canadian talent eligible to be drafted in 2026 for multiple years. The six-foot-three southpaw throws a fastball that has been up to 96 m.p.h., along with a promising changeup and slider. Duncan ends up going to the Yankees in the second round after it was confirmed in June that he would need to undergo Tommy John surgery following an elbow injury while pitching for the Canadian Junior National team in the Dominican Republic.
77. Joey Volchko
Team: Chicago White Sox
Position: Pitcher | Age: 21

Born: Torrance, Calif. | School: Georgia
Holding dual citizenship, Volchko had been one of the most fascinating pitchers in college baseball for multiple years. The right-hander was one of the top-ranked players out of high school in the 2023 class, but ended up at Stanford for two years before transferring to Georgia for 2026. He posted a 3.68 ERA for the Bulldogs with 119 strikeouts in 95.1 innings, using a fastball that can run up to 99 m.p.h., along with a slider, cutter and curveball.
184. Deiten Lachance

Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Born: Sherbrooke, Que. | School: Oklahoma
Lachance joins the Canada-to-Cleveland pipeline after breaking out during the College World Series. For the season, the six-foot-five backstop slashed .327/.396/.609 with 18 homers and 69 RBIs in 65 games. He caught fire for the eventual-champion Sooners near the end of the college schedule, launching 14 big flies in his final 22 games.
246. Robert Omidi
Team: Detroit Tigers

Born: Mississauga, Ont. | School: St. Martin SS (Ont.)
Another product of the Canadian Junior National Team, Omidi has shown a promising blend of contact and power on his way to Sunday's selection. The 18-year-old has spent time across the infield defensively, but was drafted by the Tigers as a third baseman.
297. Evan Morrison

Born: Wheatley, Ont. | School: Grand Valley State
Playing at Division II Grand Valley State, Morrison was named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year in 2026 after posting a 1.065 OPS, 27 extra-base hits and 27 stolen bases in 58 games. The 23-year-old also struck out in just seven of his 288 trips to the plate. Last summer, Morrison starred for the Chatham-Kent Barnstormers of the Intercounty Baseball League and won the circuit's rookie of the year and most outstanding offensive player awards.
382. Cole Dorland

Dorland becomes the second Canadian to be drafted by the Braves in 2026, following a spring season that saw him pitch with the Langley Blaze and Junior National Team. Dorland, who is committed to Alabama, won't turn 18 until December and uses a fastball-changeup-curveball mix headlined by a heater that sits in the low-90s.
408. Damarcus Rideout-Carter
Team: Pittsburgh Pirates
Position: Pitcher | Age: 18

Born: Brampton, Ont. | School: Heart Lake SS (Ont.)
Rideout-Carter heads to the Pirates after a prep career with the Mississauga Tigers and Junior National Team. The six-foot-three right-hander has been up to 95 m.p.h. with his fastball and also tosses a sweeping slider and changeup.
517. Ryan Marton
Team: Chicago Cubs
Position: Pitcher | Age: 21
Throws: Right
Born: Toronto, Ont. | School: UNLV
After a stint at Midland College in Texas, Marton transferred to UNLV in 2026 and posted a 6.16 ERA. The 21-year-old also struck out 22 batters in 19 innings and recorded two saves out of the Rebels' bullpen. Marton throws a mid-90s fastball, a cutter, a sweeper and a changeup. If he can't come to an agreement with the Cubs, Marton is committed to Missouri as a transfer next season.
557. PJ Moutzouridis
Team: Minnesota Twins
Position: Shortstop | Age: 21
Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Born: San Jose, Calif. | School: Arizona State
Born in San Jose to a Canadian father, Moutzouridis spent two seasons at California before transferring to ASU this spring. The six-foot-tall dual citizen slashed .286/.410/.417 in 55 games with the Sun Devils while playing excellent defence up the middle. He was named a semifinalist for the 2026 Brooks Wallace Award, which is presented to the top shortstop in college baseball.
606. Will Zielinski
Team: Detroit Tigers
Position: Pitcher | Age: 17

Born: Victoria, B.C. | School: Vauxhall HS (Alta.)
A product of Vauxhall Academy in Alberta and the Junior National Team, Zielinski caps the 2026 draft for Canadians. The 17-year-old sits in the high-80s to low-90s with his fastball and throws two high-spin breaking pitches. Zielinski is committed to UC Santa Barbara this fall. The six-foot-four right-hander also has a strong profile as a hitter, but was announced as a pitcher by the Tigers.
