The San Francisco Giants optioned RHP Camilo Doval to the minor leagues prior to their tilt with the Detroit Tigers on Friday.
Doval, 27, was an All-Star in 2023, pitching to the tune of 87 punchouts over 67 innings and leading the National League in saves with 39.
2024 has been a very different campaign for Doval however, with his ERA ballooning to a career-worst 4.70 ERA through 46 appearances with the Giants this season.
The demotion comes at a struggling point of Doval's season, with his last eight games authoring an 8.59 ERA and 7.4 BB/9.
Right-handed hurler Landen Roupp will replace Doval's spot in the Giants' bullpen for the foreseeable future.
