The Seattle Mariners will be without one of their top relievers for a short period of time.
Seattle placed right-hander Matt Brash on the 15-day injured list on Friday with right lat inflammation. The move is retroactive to April 30.
Brash, 27, was removed from his appearance on Wednesday against the Minnesota Twins before undergoing an MRI, which didn't show any structural damage.
The Kingston, Ont., native has yet to allow a run this season in 14 outings and 11.1 innings.
In 2025, Brash posted a 2.47 ERA over 47.1 innings as a trusted late-game option for the Mariners.
In Brash's place, Seattle recalled left-hander Josh Simpson from triple-A Tacoma.
