Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Bryce Harper has been named the National League MVP for the 2021 season.

This is Harper's second MVP award, after winning his first in 2015 with the Washington Nationals. Harper collected 17 of 30 first-place votes to edge Juan Soto of the Washington Nationals and Fernando Tatis Jr. of the San Diego Padres.

The 29-year-old Harper won a Silver Slugger award after hitting .309 with 35 homers, a .429 on-base percentage and a major league-leading .615 slugging percentage. Harper also led the majors with a 1.044 OPS.
