Twenty-two players from six different countries are headed to the Toronto Blue Jays.
The MLB club announced its latest class of international free-agent signings on Friday, headlined by shortstop Cristopher Polanco of the Dominican Republic.
Polanco was ranked 22nd in MLB.com's 2025 international prospect rankings.
The 17-year-old left-handed hitter stands five-foot-11 and is scouted as having a 60-grade hit tool and a 50-grade power tool.
In addition to Polanco and seven others from the Dominican Republic, the Blue Jays inked seven players from Venezuela, three players from Mexico, and a player each from Colombia, Cuba, Panama and the Netherlands.
The Blue Jays had $8,261,600 in spending room for international free agents after acquiring $2 million in space and outfielder Myles Straw from the Cleveland Guardians earlier in January.
The move was a failed gambit to lure star Japanese pitcher Roki Sasaki to Toronto. Sasaki signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers instead.
