Matthew Boyd is heading to the windy city.
The Chicago Cubs have reportedly signed the left-handed starter to a two-year, $29 million contract, per MLB Network insider Jon Heyman.
Boyd spent last season with the Cleveland Guardians, posting a 2.72 ERA in eight starts and a 0.77 ERA and 14 strikeouts in three starts during Cleveland's post-season run.
The 33-year-old owns a 4.85 ERA across 10 seasons in the MLB, eight of which were in Detroit. He also spent time with the Toronto Blue Jays and the Seattle Mariners.
Boyd found his footing in the league as a Tiger, where he made at least 20 appearances every season from 2016-2019, starting 106 games.
Now, the southpaw joins one of the deeper rotations in the league, joining fellow lefties Shota Imanaga and Justin Steele, as well as Jameson Taillon and Javier Assad.
Boyd is the fifth pitcher signed this off-season who's represented by super-agent Scott Boras, joining Blake Snell, Yusei Kikuchi, Frankie Montas and Nick Martinez.
