Details: The veteran right-hander spent 2024, the 12th season of his major-league career, with the St. Louis Cardinals, where he recorded a 4.24 ERA with 151 strikeouts and 68 walks in 169.2 innings of work.
Alex Verdugo, OF
Team: Atlanta Braves
Contract: One year, $1.5 million
Details: After spending the last five seasons in the AL East, the 28-year-old outfielder is set to take his talents back to the NL. In 149 games with the Yankees last year, Verdugo slashed .233/.291/.356 with 13 home runs and 61 RBIs.

José Urquidy, RHP
Team: Detroit Tigers
Contract: One year, $1 million with club option for 2026
Details: Urquidy didn't pitch in 2024 due to multiple injuries. He eventually underwent Tommy John surgery in June. The 30-year-old last pitched to a 5.29 ERA over 16 appearances with the Astros in 2023.

Contract: One year, $4.25 million
Details: After helping the Mets to the post-season, Quintana will join the Brewers' rotation in 2025. The 36-year-old posted a 3.75 ERA over 170.1 innings in the Big Apple, and surged down the stretch and into October.

Details: Finnegan returns to the Nationals after being non-tendered by Washington in November. The former All-Star closer picked up 38 saves in 2024 with a 3.68 ERA over 63.2 innings.

Andrew Heaney, LHP

Contract: One year, $5.25 million
Details: Heaney comes off the board and heads to Pittsburgh. One of the top free-agent starters remaining, the 33-year-old spent the last two seasons with the Rangers, completing 307.1 innings with a 4.22 ERA and helping Texas win the 2023 World Series.

Scott Alexander, LHP
Team: Colorado Rockies
Contract: One year, $2 million
Details: The 35-year-old southpaw will play for his fifth MLB club in 2025, signing with the Rockies for one year. Alexander posted a 2.56 ERA over 38.2 innings with the Athletics last summer.
Lucas Sims, RHP
Team: Washington Nationals
Contract: One year, $3 million
Details: Sims joins the Nationals after posting a 4.38 ERA with the Reds and Red Sox in 2024. The veteran reliever owns 353 career punch outs over 306 innings, while pitching to a 4.50 ERA.

Details: The 40-year-old Turner will continue his career with the Cubs. He's coming off a 2024 in which he posted a .737 OPS in 139 games split between the Blue Jays and Mariners.

Luke Jackson, RHP

Contract: One year
Details: Jackson returns to the organization that drafted him on a one-year deal. The 33-year-old split the 2024 season between the Giants and Braves, pitching to a 5.09 ERA over 53.0 innings with 59 strikeouts.
John Means, LHP
Team: Cleveland Guardians
Contract: One year, $1 million with a club option for 2026
Details: Means underwent Tommy John surgery early into the 2024 campaign and isn't expected to return to the mound until August 2025 at the earliest. The longtime Orioles starter has been excellent when he's on the field, but has struggled to stay healthy. He has thrown just 52.1 innings over the past three seasons, posting a 2.75 ERA.

Details: An All-Star in 2019, DeJong hit .227 with 24 homers and 56 RBIs last year for the White Sox and Royals. He will now join the Nationals to provide infield depth in 2025.

Contract: One year, $1.35 million
Details: Graveman missed all of 2024 with a torn labrum. But the now-34-year-old had been one of the most reliable relievers in baseball the three years prior. From 2021-2022, Graveman racked up 24 saves, a 2.74 ERA and 187.1 innings pitched.

Team: Cleveland Guardians
Contract: One year, $4.5 million
Details: The 32-year-old Junis will join the Guardians after splitting time between the Milwaukee Brewers and Cincinnati Reds in 2024. He posted a 2.69 ERA over 67.0 innings, serving as both a starting and relief pitcher.

Kyle Hart, LHP
Team: San Diego Padres
Contract: One year, $1 million with $5 million club option for 2026
Details: Hart joins the Padres after a standout 2024 in the Korean Baseball Organization where he was selected as the league's top pitcher. In his only MLB action, Hart pitched in four games (three starts) for Boston during the pandemic-shortened 2020 season. He was 0-1, allowing 24 hits and 19 earned runs over 11 innings.

Details: Unsurprisingly, Kershaw will stay with the Dodgers. The three-time Cy Young winner battled injuries in 2024, limiting him to just 30 innings. The 36-year-old southpaw will try and help Los Angeles repeat as World Series champs in 2025.

Details: The Red Sox make the final splash of the off-season, bringing in the two-time World Series champ on a short-term contract with opt-outs. Bregman joins Boston after winning his first Gold Glove and hitting .260 with 26 homers. He is expected to move to second base with his new club.

Team: San Diego Padres
Contract: Four years, $55 million
Details: San Diego lands Pivetta on a four-year deal as pitchers and catchers begin to report for spring training. The Padres will have to give up a draft pick to sign the Victoria native, as Pivetta was issued the qualifying offer by the Red Sox. In 2024 with Boston, the 31-year-old struck out 172 hitters over 145.2 innings and posted a 4.14 ERA.

Contract: One year, $1 million with a club option for 2026
Details: Smith, a longtime Mets reliever, will stay in Queens after undergoing Tommy John surgery in 2024. The 31-year-old righty has a team option on his deal for 2026, which will pay him $2 million if the Mets exercise it. He only threw 17.1 innings last season before going down with the injury.
Cal Quantrill, RHP
Team: Miami Marlins
Contract: One year, $3.5 million
Details: The Port Hope, Ont., native joins the Marlins on a one-year deal after spending 2024 in the hitter-friendly Coors Field with the Rockies. The 30-year-old posted a 4.98 ERA over 148.1 innings during his one season in Colorado.

Details: A San Diego native, Joe will return home to try and help the Padres fill the hole left by Jurickson Profar's departure in left field. The 32-year-old posted a .688 OPS with nine homers in 123 games for the Pirates in 2024, but has traditionally performed well against left-handed pitching in his five MLB seasons.

Details: After spending the last eight years with the Chicago White Sox, the veteran third baseman is joining the Angels. Moncada, 29, appeared in just 12 games with the White Sox last season and slashed .275/.356/.400 over 45 plate appearances.
Tommy Pham, OF
Team: Pittsburgh Pirates
Contract: One year, $4.025 million
Details: The veteran outfielder is moving once again, this time to Pittsburgh. Pham marks the Pirates' most notable free-agent acquisition this year. He hit a combined .248 with 20 doubles, nine home runs and 39 RBIs across the three clubs he played on last season.

Details: Kim played in 121 games last year for the San Diego Padres before his season was derailed by a shoulder injury in August. He is reportedly expected to return in May and play shortstop for the Rays.

Details: Stanek, 33, returns to Queens after joining the team in a mid-season trade from the Seattle Mariners last year. In 17 regular-season relief appearances with the Mets, Stanek recorded a 6.06 ERA. But he transformed into a different pitcher in the playoffs, when he allowed just three earned runs across eight innings while striking out eight.

Details: The Dodgers have added another experienced closer to their bullpen. The 37-year-old had a standout season with the Texas Rangers in 2024, posting a 1.17 ERA over 61.2 innings with 33 saves. In 10 seasons, Yates has pitched in 411.1 innings, posting a 3.17 ERA with 95 saves.

Details: The 27-year-old Ogasawara was made available to MLB teams by the Central League’s Chunichi Dragons on Dec. 10. Washington will pay the Dragons a $700,000 release fee. Ogasawara was 5-11 with a 3.12 ERA in 24 games and 144.1 innings last season, striking out 82 and walking 22.

Details: The Braves make their first big splash of free agency by adding the 31-year-old Profar. Profar is coming off a career-best season with the San Diego Padres, in which he slashed .280/.380/.459 with 24 home runs, 85 RBIs and 10 stolen bases.

In reuniting with Hoffman – Toronto originally picked Hoffman ninth overall out of East Carolina University in the 2014 draft – it dramatically strengthened a relief crew that completely collapsed last year, finishing with the second-worst ERA in the big leagues at 4.82.

Details: The journeyman starter Perez joins his fourth team in three years after splitting last season between the Pittsburgh Pirates and San Diego Padres. Across 26 starts, the reliable 33-year-old posted a 5-6 record with a 4.53 ERA and 107 strikeouts across 135 innings.

Justin Verlander, RHP

Details: The future Hall of Famer, who is about to turn 42, returns for a 20th season with the Giants. He had a bumpy 2024 after getting a late start to the season due to right shoulder inflammation and a neck injury that later kept him off the mound for two months. In total, Verlander threw 90.1 innings for the Houston Astros, posting a 5.48 ERA and 74 strikeouts in 2024.
