The San Francisco Giants are adding some power to the lineup for a final playoff push.
Susan Slusser of The San Francisco Chronicle reports that the Giants will be calling up top prospect Bryce Eldridge.
Eldridge, a first baseman, is the No. 1 prospect in the Giants' system and MLB's No. 13 prospect, according to MLB Pipeline.
The 20-year-old was the Giants' first-round pick, 16th overall, in 2023. He began the season in double-A and was promoted to triple-A in June.
In 66 triple-A games, Eldridge hit .249/.322/.514 with 18 home runs and 63 RBIs.
The Giants were sellers at the trade deadline, but since Aug. 23, they have a 14-6 record. That, combined with some struggles by the Mets, has the Giants just 1.5 games out of the final wild-card spot in the National League with two weeks to go in the season.
