The Yankees appear to be solidifying their bullpen after losing Clay Holmes to the Mets.
Righty reliever Jonathan Loaisiga has agreed to a one-year deal to return to the Yankees, ESPN's Jorge Castillo reported on Wednesday.
The deal reportedly comes with a team option for the 2026 season. The financial terms of the contract were not immediately disclosed.
Loaisiga, 30, missed the majority of the 2024 season after undergoing elbow surgery on a torn UCL early in the campaign. According to Castillo, he's expected to be ready to pitch by late April.
He appeared in three outings for the Yankees, pitching four innings without giving up any runs in late March and early April.
The Managua, Nicaragua native has spent the entirety of his seven-year MLB career with the Yankees, logging a 3.44 ERA in 219.2 innings pitched since the 2018 season.
He also dealt with elbow injuries throughout the 2023 season, pitching only 17.2 innings in the campaign. He made 50 appearances in 2022.
