The Toronto Blue Jays will have Anthony Santander back in the lineup as they look to bounce back in Game 3 of the ALCS.
After being a late scratch in Game 2, Santander is batting fourth and playing right field for Toronto on Wednesday night.
Manager John Schneider told reporters on Tuesday that Santander was "feeling better" and that the team was hoping he would be able to return to the starting nine.
Schneider also told reporters that Santander was available to hit off the bench in Game 2, if necessary.
Santander went 1-for-3 with a strikeout in Game 1 against Seattle. In four games this post-season, the 30-year-old is hitting .231/.231/.231 with two RBIs.
Toronto's $92.5-million off-season signing could be a big boost for the Blue Jays, as Santander has been particularly effective against Mariners starter George Kirby in his career.
In 15 at-bats against the right-hander, Santander has six hits and two home runs.
With the Blue Jays bumping Santander up to the cleanup spot, they are opting to slide third baseman Addison Barger down to the seven-hole in the order.
Barger has had a tough go thus far against Seattle's pitching, going 0-for-6 with two walks through the first two games of the series.
Santander missed an extended chunk of the regular season with a shoulder injury suffered on May 29. He returned to the lineup against the Boston Red Sox on Sept. 24 in the Blue Jays' penultimate series of the season.
You can watch Game 3 of the ALCS on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+ starting at 8:08 p.m. ET / 5:08 p.m. PT.
