The night ended early for Detroit Tigers pitcher Ty Madden.
The right-hander exited Friday against the Toronto Blue Jays after he was hit by a Vladimir Guerrero Jr. line drive off his arm in the third inning.
Madden, 26, was the third reliever out for the Tigers in Friday's bullpen game and was expected to pitch multiple innings. He allowed one hit in 0.1 innings prior to his exit.
In 2026, the Houston native has a 2.38 ERA with 12 strikeouts and two walks in 11.1 innings.
The third-year big-leaguer missed all of 2025 with a rotator cuff strain and began the 2026 season with triple-A Toledo.
