The Toronto Blue Jays return to action on Sunday, taking on the Seattle Mariners for the rubber match of a three-game set.
Sophomore Trey Yesavage is set to take the mound, as Toronto looks to bounce back from an 11-0 loss to Seattle on Saturday.
The Blue Jays' bats generated just one hit on the day, while Shane Bieber shared in the struggles by allowing seven earned runs and three walks through four innings. Toronto's two all-stars on the offensive side in Ernie Clement and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. went a combined 0-of-6 against Seattle's pitching duo of Logan Gilbert and Cole Wilcox.
The Blue Jays can still win the three-game set thanks to a 2-0 victory against the Mariners on Friday.
As for Yesavage, the 22-year-old will look to replicate a solid outing against the New York Mets in his last appearance a week ago. He gave up one earned run on three hits and three strikeouts through 6.2 innings of work.
Emerson Hancock is scheduled to start opposite Yesavage on Sunday. The righty owns a 3.47 ERA and 5-4 record through 16 appearances this season.
The Blue Jays head into the series finale with a 42-47 record, sitting 3rd in the AL East. Catch first pitch against the Mariners at 5 p.m. ET / 2 p.m. PT on Sportsnet or Sportsnet+.
