Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette will not play in today’s game against the Boston Red Sox and is considered day-to-day as he deals with two left shin contusions, the team announced Sunday.

The absence will be the first time Bichette hasn’t featured in the Blue Jays lineup this season. The injuries happened after Bichette fouled balls off his shins.

The 23-year-old has 20 home runs this season while slashing .293/.342/.478, as well as 77 RBIs.
