Bryan Battle has a new full-time home several weeks after being released by the UFC for missing weight.
The middleweight fighter has signed with the Professional Fighters League, the organization announced Friday.
Battle, 30, was scheduled to face Nursulton Ruziboev at UFC 319 in August but missed the non-title middleweight limit by a whopping four pounds. The bout was cancelled and removed from the card on the eve of the event, and Battle was subsequently cut from the UFC roster.
It was the second consecutive bout for which Battle missed weight and the third total time he was over the limit during his UFC career. His two previous misses were ahead of welterweight matchups — he weighed 173 before his fight with Gabriel Green in 2023 and weighed 175 against Randy Brown this past December.
Battle, who picked up a stoppage win at a Dirty Boxing event one week ago, broke into the UFC in 2021 after winning season 29 of The Ultimate Fighter and had amassed a record of 7-1 with one no-contest.
