Robbie Lawler vs. Donald Cerrone is among the most exciting stylistic matchups you could put together if you were the UFC—on paper at least—and that’s what the promotion is planning for UFC 213.

ESPN’s Brett Okamoto confirmed the matchup with UFC president Dana White.

Both fan favourites are coming off knockout losses that ended lengthy winning streaks. Lawler (27–11, 1 NC) was stopped by Tyron Woodley and lost his welterweight title at UFC 201 this past July. He had won five straight prior to suffering his first KO loss since Nick Diaz stopped him way back in 2004. Cerrone (32-8, 1 NC) had a four-fight streak at welterweight snapped in January by Jorge Masvidal.

A heavyweight bout between Fabricio Werdum and Alistair Overeem is also slated for this card. The event takes place July 8 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
