Valentina Shevchenko will have the opportunity to avenge the first loss of her career when she attempts to defend her UFC women’s flyweight title against veteran Liz Carmouche this summer.

The UFC officially announced Thursday that the two women are scheduled to headline a Fight Night event in Uruguay on Aug. 10.

It will be a rematch almost nine years in the making, as Carmouche earned a victory over Shevchenko via doctor’s stoppage back in 2010 at a regional event in Oklahoma in what was Shevchenko’s first MMA fight in North America.

This will be the second time in Carmouche’s UFC career she’ll fight for a title as well.

Carmouche (13-6) was the first female competitor in UFC history to step into the Octagon when her and Ronda Rousey headlined UFC 157 in 2013. Carmouche lost that bout, which was contested in the 135-pound bantamweight division, by first-round armbar submission but since then has picked up some impressive victories.

The 35-year-old has gone 5-3 since that historic Rousey fight, picking up wins over current strawweight champion Jessica Andrade and No. 2-ranked flyweight contender Katlyn Chookagian among others.

Meanwhile, Shevchenko has gone 10-2 since facing Carmouche and both of those losses have been decisions (a tightly-contested unanimous in 2016, and a split in 2017) to current UFC women’s bantamweight and featherweight champion Amanda Nunes.

After that second loss to Nunes, Shevchenko dropped down to the 125-pound weight class where she has been a force.

Shevchenko, 31, bloodied and submitted Priscila Cachoeira to earn a title shot, outclassed former strawweight champ Joanna Jędrzejczyk to win the vacant belt, and recently defended her strap with a vicious head-kick knockout over Jessica Eye at UFC 238 earlier this month.

Other bouts tentatively scheduled for the event in Montevideo’s Antel Arena:

– Tecia Torres vs. Marina Rodriguez
– Ciryl Gane vs. Raphael Pessoa Nunes
– Enrique Barzola vs. Bobby Moffett
– Geraldo de Freitas vs. Chris Gutierrez
– Taila Santos vs. Ashlee Evans-Smith
– Rogério Bontorin vs. Raulian Paiva
– Veronica Macedo vs. Rachael Ostovich
– Oskar Piechota vs. Rodolfo Vieira
– Rafael Fiziev vs. Alex da Silva Coelho
– Alexey Kunchenko vs. Laureano Staropoli
