Max Holloway will put his UFC featherweight title on the line when he takes on Frankie Edgar on Saturday in the main event of UFC 240 as a heavy -400 favourite on the UFC odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

Holloway has dominated the featherweight division since suffering a three-round unanimous decision loss to Conor McGregor back in 2013, posting 13 straight victories in the 145-pound weight class ahead of Saturday night’s matchup at Rogers Place in Edmonton.

Holloway has also successfully defended his UFC featherweight crown on two previous occasions, capped by a fourth-round TKO win over Brian Ortega as a -105 underdog at UFC 231 that also earned him Fight of the Night and Performance of the Night bonuses.

The popular Hawaiian came up short last time out in a bid to claim the interim UFC lightweight title, falling to Dustin Poirier by unanimous decision as -240 chalk at UFC 236. Despite the recent loss, though, Holloway remains one of the most effective finishers in the UFC today, with each of his past four victories coming by TKO.

Idle for 15 months since earning a unanimous decision win over Cub Swanson as a -285 favourite at online betting sites at UFC Fight Night 128, Edgar makes a third bid for the UFC featherweight championship on Saturday pegged as a lengthy +300 underdog.

The former UFC lightweight champion has struggled at times since moving to the featherweight division in 2013, going 8-3 in 11 fights, including a pair of losses to former champion Jose Aldo with the UFC featherweight belt on the line. In addition to his two losses to Aldo, Edgar suffered a stunning first-round knockout defeat at Ortega’s hands as a -160 bet at UFC 222, dropping him to 3-2 in his past five outings.

Earlier in the evening, Cris Cyborg makes her first octagon appearance since losing her UFC women’s featherweight crown, taking on Felicia Spencer as massive -700 chalk. Cyborg suffered her first defeat since 2005 in spectacular fashion, falling to Amanda Nunes by knockout just 51 seconds into their matchup at UFC 232.

A native of Montreal, Spencer puts her perfect 7-0 record on the line as a long +450 underdog. The 28-year-old tallied a first-round submission victory over Megan Anderson as a +175 underdog in her UFC debut at UFC Fight Night 152, and has finished opponents with a rear-naked choke in four of her past five outings.

Elsewhere on the UFC 240 odds, Montreal’s Olivier Aubin-Mercier battles fellow lightweight Arman Tsarukyan as a +175 underdog, while Gatineau native Marc-Andre Barriault faces off against Krzysztof Jotko as a +140 underdog in a middleweight matchup.
