There will be no more Knockout of the Night or Submission of the Night awards handed out following UFC events from now on.

UFC officials announced a restructuring to its post-fight bonus system Tuesday.

The promotion will still hand out Fight of the Night bonuses to the two fighters who compete in the best fight at an event, but there will also be two Performance of the Night bonuses handed out.

“The Performance of the Night bonuses will reward the athletes who put on the best and most exciting individual performances,” an official UFC statement read.

Each bonus will be worth US$50,000.

The UFC introduced the Fight of the Night, KO of the Night and Submission of the Night awards in 2006. Former middleweight champion Anderson Silva and lightweight star Joe Lauzon have each won 12 UFC post-fight bonuses, which is tied for the most of all-time, while TUF 5 winner Nate Diaz has 11. Donald Cerrone has the most post-fight bonuses in Zuffa history with 13, though five of them came when he competed in the defunct World Extreme Cagefighting.
