Jake Paul has earned a first-round knockout victory over Ben Askren in the third bout of his professional boxing career.
Fighting in front of a limited crowd at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Paul and Askren met in what was a much-hyped next chapter of the YouTube star’s boxing career.
Paul’s first two fights came against a fellow YouTuber known as AnEsonGib and former NBA player Nate Robinson, both of whom Paul defeated. Having yet to face a bona fide boxer, the Askren bout was billed as the first in Paul’s career against an actual fighter, albeit one known for his elite wrestling ability rather than his striking.
Askren, a former Bellator and ONE champion, who also enjoyed a decorated wrestling career and competed in the Olympics before most recently competing in the UFC, entered the fight having last fought in 2019.
With the win in tow, Paul moves to 3-0 in his career.
