Anderson Silva defeated Rich Franklin on October 14, 2006 at UFC 64 to capture the MW title.
Welterweight Georges St. Pierre April 19, 2008 B.J. Penn
Georges St. Pierre defeated Matt Serra on April 19, 2008 at UFC 83 to capture the WW belt.
Lightweight B.J. Penn January 19, 2008 Kenny Florian
B.J. Penn defeated Joe Stevenson on January 19, 2008 at UFC 80 to capture the LW belt, which was vacant at the time.
Sean Sherk was previously stripped of the title on December 8, 2007 because of a positive steroid test following his July 7, 2007 fight. Penn defeated Sherk on May 24, 2008 in his first belt defence.
