UFC 153 prelims on Sportsnet.ca, Sportsnet ONE

Sportsnet is the place for live preliminary fights again Saturday as UFC 153: Silva vs. Bonnar takes place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Two early preliminary bouts will again be streamed live on Sportsnet.ca starting at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT. It will be the third time that the first preliminary bouts will be available online on Sportsnet.ca, which began with last month’s UFC 152 in Montreal.

Brazil’s Cristiano Marcello will take on Reza Madadi of Sweden in a lightweight bout while American Chris Camozzi will welcome local fighter Luiz Cane to the middleweight division.

The two fights will be followed by the four-fight televised undercard on Sportsnet ONE starting at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT, capped off with a featherweight duel between Rony Mariano Bezerra and Sam Sicilia. The main card takes place on pay-per-view at 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT and is headlined by a non-title light-heavyweight bout between middleweight champ Anderson Silva and Stephan Bonnar.

Despite the fact that UFC main events are usually five rounds, Saturday’s headliner will be just a three-rounder by virtue of the fact that it is a late replacement matchup after an injury last month to Jose Aldo, who was set to defend his featherweight belt against Frankie Edgar.

Sportsnet.ca will also have live streams of Thursday’s pre-fight press conference at 1 p.m. ET and Friday’s weigh-ins at 3 p.m.
