Canada has set its 12-man roster for the upcoming FIBA World Cup.
Sportsnet's Arash Madani reported Wednesday that wing Thomas Scrubb and guard Kenny Chery were the final cuts, and Canada Basketball officially announced its lineup Thursday.
Scrubb, 31, is a native of Richmond, B.C., and has averaged 7.3 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists through his 31 games with the senior men's national team.
Chery, 31, is a native of Montreal, Que., and has averaged 10.8 points, 3.2 rebounds and 4.2 assists while shooting 42.3 per cent from three-point range in his five games with the senior team.
In for the Canadians is big man Zach Edey of Purdue. The 21-year-old reigning National College Player of the Year earned some minutes in Canada's friendly games against Germany, Spain and the Dominican Republic.
Edey's size likely came into play in the final selection as the Canadian team is somewhat bereft of big men with no other players standing above seven feet.
Kelly Olynyk, who is one of seven NBA players on the roster, will serve as Canada's captain.
"With this team, we’ve assembled a group of players which we believe can compete with any team in the world," head coach Jordi Fernandez said in Friday's release. "Every time we step onto the court, I know that they will proudly represent Canada, and I truly hope fans in Canada will show them the support and admiration they deserve because we have an opportunity to do something special for the country."
Here's a look at Canada's final roster:
• Kyle Alexander
• Nickeil Alexander-Walker
• RJ Barrett
• Trae Bell-Haynes
• Dillon Brooks
• Luguentz Dort
• Zach Edey
• Melvin Ejim

Canada is slotted in Group H with France, Lebanon and Latvia and can also qualify for the Olympics by finishing within the top two of the seven teams from the Americas.
Canada will kick off the FIBA World Cup on Friday with a matchup against France and big man Rudy Gobert. You can watch the game at 9 a.m. ET / 6 a.m. PT on Sportsnet or SN NOW.
