D'Angelo Russell's next chapter is in China.
The longtime NBAer signed with the Chinese Basketball Association's Shanghai Sharks, the league announced on Wednesday.
Russell, 30, was waived by the Memphis Grizzlies earlier in September ahead of training camp.
The No. 2 overall pick in the 2015 NBA draft by the Los Angeles Lakers, Russell landed in Memphis when he was included by Washington in a six-team, 11-player trade in July.
Russell has played in 655 games over 11 NBA seasons with Los Angeles, Brooklyn, Golden State, Minnesota and Dallas.
He scored 17 points per game while adding 5.6 assists and shooting 36.3 per cent from three-point range for his career.
Russell will join fellow ex-NBAer Hassan Whiteside in Shanghai.
