As if the stakes weren't high enough in Game 7 of the NBA Finals, the Indiana Pacers also got a little bulletin board material to inspire them even further.
Speaking shortly before tip-off, Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle explained why he's going into Game 7 against the Oklahoma City Thunder with some extra motivation.
"I just saw a video that's probably going to go viral," Carlisle told reporters. "Of some buses, open-top buses, presumably for the parade, that are already painted with them as champions. That's all I'm thinking about right now.”
For a team that has defied expectations all post-season long, not letting the buses see the light of day would be another fitting chapter in the improbable story the Pacers have written through these NBA Playoffs.
You can watch the Pacers try and win the NBA title on the Thunder's home floor in Game 7 live on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+ starting at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT.
