The injury bug has plagued the Toronto Raptors all season, and it doesn't appear to be leaving anytime soon.
Raptors star Scottie Barnes suffered his second injury of the season in Monday's loss to the New York Knicks when he rolled his ankle in the third quarter.
He was diagnosed with a right ankle sprain and ruled out for the rest of the contest.
Barnes was spotted in a walking boot on Tuesday, and the team said he will have more imagining done on Wednesday before providing an update on his status.
After Monday's game, head coach Darko Rajakovic told reporters that X-rays on Barnes's ankle came back negative.
While Barnes is averaging career-highs of 21 points, 8.7 rebounds and 7.8 assists through this year — fresh off inking a five-year maximum contract extension that could reach up to $270 million — he's only played in 13 games due to injury. He missed 11 games earlier this season due to an orbital fracture.
The team also provided an injury update on starting point guard Immanuel Quickley who has been out since Nov. 10 due to a partial tear to the UCL in his left elbow.
Quickley had his left elbow looked at again on Tuesday and is still not cleared for practice.
The six-foot-two guard has suited up for only three games for Toronto this season and is averaging 15.3 points, 2.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 0.7 steals in 22.7 minutes per contest, but left two of those games early due to injury.
