Devin Carter has found his latest NBA opportunity.
The guard has reportedly agreed to a deal with the Boston Celtics, per NBA insider Michael Scotto on Monday.
Scotto added that Carter will compete for a roster or two-way spot throughout training camp, which is set to begin near the end of September.
Carter, 24, was originally a member of the Sacramento Kings, who drafted him 13th overall in 2024. He saw limited NBA floor time, however, due to a mix of injuries and a crowded backcourt in Sacramento. Carter totalled 74 appearances through his first two seasons, averaging 6.4 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.9 assists in that span.
He played 38 games during the 2025-26 campaign, posting averages of 8.9 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 18.4 minutes.
Carter was then traded by Sacramento to the Atlanta Hawks in June, which was largely a cost-cutting move, with the guard's $5.16 million salary for the upcoming season coming off the Kings books. Atlanta then waived Carter on Sept. 11, opening the door for him to join Boston.
He'll compete to be a part of a new-look Celtics team led by Jayson Tatum and running mate Paul George, who arrived in a deal that shipped off Jalen Brown.
