The San Antonio Spurs are set to lock up a piece of their Western Conference-champion squad.
Forward Julian Champagnie intends to sign a new three-year, $45-million contract with the Spurs, the team announced. San Antonio declined Champagnie's $3-million player option for 2026-27 to make way for the deal.
The 25-year-old played in all 82 regular-season games for the Spurs in 2025-26, averaging 11.1 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists on 43.7 per cent shooting in 27.6 minutes per contest.
During the post-season, Champagnie started all 23 of San Antonio's games and remained a positive contributor, chipping in 11.2 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.6 steals while knocking down 39.6 per cent of his shots from deep.
Champagnie has spent parts of the last four seasons with the Spurs after breaking into the NBA with the Philadelphia 76ers in 2022-23.
His twin brother, Justin, currently plays with the Washington Wizards.
