Kemba Walker has agreed to a contract buyout with the Oklahoma City Thunder and plans to sign with the New York Knicks after he clears waivers, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
The four-time all-star was traded to the Thunder along with a 2021 first-round pick and a 2025 second-round pick from the Boston Celtics in exchange for Al Horford, Moses Brown, and a 2023 second-rounder back in June. He had two years remaining on his four-year, $141-million contract.
Walker, 31, averaged 19.3 points, four rebounds and 4.9 assists on 42 per cent shooting in 43 games with the Celtics last season.
