The Los Angeles Lakers are considering guard Russell Westbrook day-to-day with a left hamstring injury, according to Dan Woike of the Los Angeles Times.
Westbrook suffered the injury in the Lakers' preseason finale against the Sacramento Kings after five scoreless minutes off the bench.
Coming off the bench for the first time since he was a rookie, Westbrook entered midway through the first quarter in the Lakers' 133-86 loss to Sacramento. He missed two three-pointers and had two turnovers.
In the 2021-22 season, his first with the Lakers, Westbrook averaged 18.5 points (his lowest total since 2009-10), 7.4 rebounds, 7.1 assists and a 29.8 per cent three-point percentage.
The Lakers are set to open the regular season Tuesday night at defending champion Golden State.
